Best Time to Sell USDT in India: Does Timing Change Your Rate?
Is there a best time of day or week to sell USDT for INR? How USDT/INR rates move, what our own rate history shows, and why fees and rate lock matter more than timing.

Quick answer
For most sellers, there's no best hour to sell USDT. The USDT/INR rate follows the dollar and local demand, and moves by small amounts. On Disburz the rate is set by our payout partner and changes only when it updates it. Compare the final INR after fees and lock the rate when it suits you.
If you're holding USDT and waiting for a better rate, it's natural to wonder whether there's a best time to sell. For most people the honest answer is: timing matters much less than fees and where you sell.

What moves the USDT to INR rate
- The dollar. USDT tracks the US dollar, so the USD/INR exchange rate sets the base.
- The USDT premium. In India, USDT usually trades above the dollar because of local demand and the cost and risk of moving money in and out of crypto. See why the USDT price is higher in India.
- Where you sell. P2P prices change with whoever is online. Exchange prices follow their order book. An offramp sets a rate and changes it from time to time.

Today's rates side by side (live)
| Rate (live) | 1 unit in INR | vs US dollar |
|---|---|---|
| US dollar (mid-market, ExchangeRate-API) | ₹95.20 | — |
| USDT, market average (CoinGecko) | ₹95.02 | -0.19% |
| USDT, Disburz sell rate | ₹96.00 | +0.84% |
What our own rate history shows
Disburz records its sell rate every hour. Our payout partner Trans Ramp sets the rate, and it changes only when the partner updates it, not minute by minute. So on Disburz there's no better hour of the day to sell: the chart below shows every change.
- High
- ₹96.00
- Low
- ₹96.00
- Change
- +0.00%

Does the day of the week matter?
Not for the payout. IMPS, NEFT and RTGS all run 24/7 in India, so a sale on a Sunday night is paid out like one on a Tuesday morning. On P2P, fewer buyers at odd hours can mean slower trades and weaker prices.
What matters more than timing
- Fees. A 0.1% better rate is wiped out by a bigger fixed fee on anything but a large sale. See crypto to INR fees explained.
- Rate lock. On Disburz the rate is locked when you confirm, so it can't move while your USDT confirms on the blockchain.
- Selling in one go. With fixed fees, one sale costs less than several. See selling small amounts of USDT.
- The financial year. A sale on 31 March and one on 1 April fall in different tax years. It doesn't change the 30% rate, but it changes which return you report it in. See crypto tax and TDS in India.
So when should you sell?
When you need the rupees, and the final INR after fees is fair. Waiting for a few paise of rate rarely pays off, and holding USDT while you wait carries its own risks. Compare the final amount in the USDT to INR calculator and see the best USDT to INR rate page.
