Selling a Small Amount of USDT in India: What You Actually Get
Selling 10, 50 or 100 USDT for INR? How fixed fees eat small sales, the live break-even amount on Disburz, and when it's worth waiting to sell more at once.

Quick answer
You can sell small amounts of USDT, but fixed fees take a bigger share of a small sale. On Disburz the fee is a flat amount per sale, so 10 USDT loses a large share while 1,000 USDT loses well under 1%. If you can, sell less often in bigger amounts.
Got 10 or 20 USDT from an airdrop, a tip or a small job? You can sell it for rupees, but it's worth knowing what you'll actually get first. With small amounts, fees matter more than the rate.

Why small sales cost more
Most platforms charge at least part of their fee as a fixed amount per sale. On Disburz today it's ₹50 fee + 3 USDT network deduction. A fixed fee costs the same on 10 USDT as on 10,000 USDT, so it takes a much bigger bite out of a small sale.
What small amounts pay out today
| You sell | Paid to your bank | Total cost |
|---|---|---|
| 20 USDT | ₹1,582.00 | 17.60% (₹338.00) |
| 50 USDT | ₹4,462.00 | 7.04% (₹338.00) |
| 100 USDT | ₹9,262.00 | 3.52% (₹338.00) |
| 200 USDT | ₹18,862.00 | 1.76% (₹338.00) |
| 500 USDT | ₹47,662.00 | 0.70% (₹338.00) |
| 1,000 USDT | ₹95,662.00 | 0.35% (₹338.00) |
These numbers come from today's live quote and update with it. The minimum sale is 13.95 USDT.
The break-even point
A useful rule of thumb: try to keep your total cost under 1% or 2% of what you're selling. Today, the total cost on Disburz falls to 2% from about 177 USDT, and to 1% from about 353 USDT. Below that, it's often worth waiting until you have more to sell.

How to get more INR from a small balance
- Sell less often, in bigger amounts. Ten sales of 50 USDT pay ten fixed fees; one sale of 500 pays one.
- Don't move USDT between wallets first. Every transfer has its own network fee. Send straight from where it is to the platform.
- Use the cheap network. On TRC20 the sending fee is paid in TRX. See TRC20 vs ERC20 USDT.
- Compare the final INR, not the headline rate. A platform with a better rate but a bigger fixed fee can pay less on a small sale. See crypto to INR fees explained.
Is P2P cheaper for small amounts?
Sometimes. P2P has no fixed platform fee, so on a very small sale it can pay a little more. But the risk doesn't shrink with the amount: one small trade with a buyer paying scam money can freeze your bank account. See P2P vs crypto offramp.
Small amounts and tax
Small sales are taxed the same way as big ones: 30% plus cess on any gain, reported in your income tax return. See crypto tax and TDS in India.
